Lauren graduated from Emily Carr University in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Film and Integrated Media Studies. Her lifelong passion for education and deep rooted belief in intersectional feminism are what gets her out of bed in the morning.
After discovering the life-changing benefits of building a Shine Coalition with some amazing and likeminded ladies in her workplace, she decided to create this blog as a way to provide real and approachable guidance for women everywhere. 
An avid user of technology, Lauren currently works for a prominent Vancouver tech company, researching and writing educational content . In addition, she volunteers as a Technology Advisor, Content Creator, and Digital Marketer for the Power of Education Africa Foundation, which is an NGO dedicated to helping impoverished and orphaned girls in South Nyanza Province, Kenya attend school.
